Vision and values

Our vision:

We are much more than a Fire and Rescue Service. We are about helping you to become safer, healthier and to live more independently. Improving your wellbeing and investing in our future generations is central to our way of thinking. We will play a key part in supporting our communities and businesses to grow safely and responsibly. When you need us, we will respond quickly and professionally to limit distress, harm and economic loss.

We also have five priorities:

Code of Ethics

In May 2021, the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC), Local Government Association (LGA) and Association of Police and Crime Commissioners (APCC) published the Core Code of Ethics for Fire and Rescue Services. DWFRS is fully signed up to the code, which sets out five ethical principles as a basis for promoting good behaviour and challenging inappropriate behaviour. In short “helping every member of the Fire and Rescue Service  to act in the right way in their service to the public.”

More information about the Code of Ethics can be found here.
