Wholetime firefighters

The role of a firefighter has changed a lot in recent years, with even more emphasis on fire prevention and community education.

Our firefighters are, of course, still required to put out fires when they do occur but they can respond to flooding and water rescue incidents, road traffic collisions, animal rescues and alarm calls.

They are also involved in gathering risk information across their community, providing fire safety advice and helping to educate people about risks and prevention.
