As a Service, our firefighters are always training to ensure that they are confident to deal with any incident they are asked to attend.
Many of these training scenarios involve casualties. The role of the casualty can be filled by a training manikin, but nothing beats working with a real person.
Our team of volunteers play the part requested by the trainer to ensure that the firefighters have the opportunity to learn the skills required – this is extremely beneficial to the crews, as dealing with a real person is very different to dealing with a manikin.
At times, this team is asked to assist with assessments and large-scale Service exercises.
