The Santa Fire Sleigh Returns for Another Year

Date: 5th December, 2018

Local Poole and Hamworthy firefighters will be again chaperoning Father Christmas through the local community on Monday 17th December, delivering fire safety advice and collecting charitable donations for two charities as part of their annual Santa’s Fire Sleigh.

With Christmas on the horizon, the crew will begin their journey at 5.30pm, escorting Santa through the streets of the Waterloo estate until 7.30pm. They will then move to Hamworthy, finishing there at around 9pm. They will be Tweeting updates on their route with @DWFRSPooleFire.

Raising money for the Fire Fighters Charity and Forest Holme, Santa will be supported by firefighters from both Poole and Hamworthy fire stations, volunteers and the two fire service mascots, Deetector and Welliphant.

Poole’s On-call Watch Manager Ian Crabb, said: “Previous year’s events were a great success and we’re all really looking forward to escorting Santa through our local neighbourhood again. It gives us a great opportunity to engage with our community, spread some festive cheer, raise some money and deliver our fire safety messages.”
