Santa’s Fire Sleigh raises over £1,000 for charity

Date: 20th December, 2017

Local firefighters have sent their thanks to residents in Poole’s Waterloo estate and Hamworthy, after their Santa’s Fire Sleigh raised over £1,000 for charity.

The crews went out on Monday night (18 December), collecting money for Forest Holme Hospice and the Fire Fighters Charity.

On-call firefighters from both Poole and Hamworthy escorted Santa through the local streets for around three hours, supported by staff and volunteers from Forest Holme.

Watch Manager Ian Crabb, from Poole, said: “We were amazed to collect £1,053.63 in such a short space of time, and we are so grateful to everyone for their generosity. Santa’s Fire Sleigh has become a bit of a Christmas tradition locally, and it’s great to be able to spread some festive cheer while delivering fire safety messages and raising much needed funds for two wonderful charities.”
