Last call for the Prince’s Trust Team Programme

Date: 11th September, 2018

There are a final few spaces remaining for the upcoming Prince’s Trust Team programme being delivered by Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service in Hamworthy.

We are looking for unemployed young people to take part in an exciting 12 week course to learn new skills and improve their confidence and motivation. The upcoming Team programme will be based at Hamworthy Fire Station and will run from Monday 24th September until Friday 14th December.  If you are aged 16 to 25 and not currently in Education, Employment or Training and would like the opportunity to gain new skills and qualifications get in touch.

Participants will get involved in team building activities including a four-day residential trip in Dartmoor, complete a community project, complete a 2 day firefighting course and take part in two weeks of work experience during the programme.  They will also get advice on how to write CVs, practice interview skills and gain nationally recognised qualifications including a Level 3 First Aid certificate.

Three in four young people supported by The Prince’s Trust move into work, education or training. The course will give unemployed young people aged between 16 and 25 the skills and confidence to find a job.

Rob Guy, Youth Intervention Manager, said: “The 12 week programme is all about helping young people to learn new skills and achieve their potential and we have some great activities and opportunities planned for this upcoming course.  We are holding a taster day to meet staff and find out more about the programme at Hamworthy Fire Station on Thursday 20th September from 11am so if you would like to book a space, get in touch as soon as possible”.

If you would like to find out more about the upcoming Team programme or register an interest to apply, please contact Rob Guy on 07739 899293 or email [email protected]
