Christchurch Firefighters Hosting a Charity Coffee Morning

Date: 17th September, 2018

Firefighters are hosting a coffee morning this Saturday (22 September) from 10.00am to 12:30pm at Christchurch fire station, raising awareness and money for Dorset Cancer Care Foundation.

For the second year in a row, firefighters at Christchurch are opening the station doors to members of the public; who will be able to join in the coffee morning, look around the station and the appliances, get a better understanding of the role the crews play within their community and help raise some vital funds for this local charity.

Watch Manager Matt Kiddell said: “We are hosting the event to help raise awareness and money for people with cancer. We are always there for our communities in an emergency and it would be great to engage with them over a nice cup of coffee and a piece of cake.

He added: “Dorset Cancer Care Foundation is a local charity for local people who are experiencing financial hardship because of cancer and we’re really pleased to be able to support them again this year.”

Matt is inviting local businesses to help support the event and Dorset Cancer Care Foundation if they wish, by delivering cakes to the fire station on Fairmile Road, prior to the event.
