A charity car wash is being held in Verwood this Saturday (1 October) in aid of the Fire Fighters Charity.
The event is being organised at the fire station in Station Road between 10am and 2.30pm.
Firefighters will be washing cars in return for donations and there will also be the chance to find out about becoming an on-call firefighter.
The Fire Fighters Charity provides help to serving and retired personnel, their widows/widowers and young dependents through the provision of sheltered accommodation, recuperative facilities, rehabilitation and therapy, as well as giving financial support to those who need it.
The charity works with some 11,000 beneficiaries every year at a cost of £9 million per annum, and these services are financed almost exclusively by fundraising.
