Vehicle Fire – M4 Junction 17-18

Date: 15th November, 2019

Time: 12.52pm

Description: Two pumps from Chippenham, one pump from Malmesbury, water carrier from Rayal Wootton Bassett and a flexi duty officer were mobilised to a report of a lorry fire on the M$, Westbound between junctions 17 and 18. Once in attendance the first Chippenham crew discovered there had a small fire in the rear axle of LGV which was out on their arrival and used one hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera to ensure no further fire spread. The remaining appliances and officer were stood down.
