Description: At 18:43hrs we received a call to a fire involving a thatched property in Poxwell. The first officers and crew in attendance requested more resources to be able to deal with the fire as effectively as possible. At the height of the incident crews in attendance were - pumping appliance - 2 from Weymouth, 1 from Dorchester, 1 from Wareham, 1 from Bere Regis, 2 from Portland, 2 from Poole, 2 from Bridport, 1 from Beaminster, 1 from Hamworthy and 1 from Westbourne. Specialist appliances included - an Aerial Ladder Platform from Westbourne, a Water Carrier from Poole, an Incident Command Unit from Hamworthy and an Incident Support Unit from Poole. Not forgetting the Command and Specialist Officers and the British Red Cross. These crews have now been relieved by other fire crews but it is likely we will have crews in attendance throughout the night.
