RTC into Building Persons Trapped – Sturminster Newton

Time: 9.51pm

Description: Sturminster Newton - fire crews were requested by Police to attend Bridge Street where an individual was physically trapped underneath a transit van. Fire Control mobilised crews from Sturminster Newton (one), Blandford (two) and Salisbury (operational support unit) to the scene. A specialist tactical advisor from Hampshire was also on standby with advice as it was reported that the van had gone into a building. The crew from Sturminster Newton were first in attendance and, as the male was conscious with no injuries, able to release the casualty using high pressure air mats. The other appliances made available for other incidents as were no longer required. The police and ambulance service also attended.
