Description: At 1.50am this morning (18th January) firefighters were called to reports of a fire in the roof of a property in Homington Road, Coombe Bissett. Initially firefighters from Salisbury and Wilton were mobilised to this incident, on arrival they requested support and at the height of the incident we had eight fire engines (approx. 40 firefighters) in attendance. Firefighters used breathing apparatus, hoses and ladders to work to extinguish the fire in the roof, which we believe has damaged approx. 70% of the roof. Three fire engines (approx. 15 firefighters) remain on scene this morning, they are removing roof tiles to access and extinguish any remaining fire. Our fire investigation officer will be returning to the scene later this morning to continue his investigation into the cause of the fire. No one was injured or rescued from the property.
