Road Traffic Collision – Chippenham

Date: 16th June, 2019

Time: 12.25am

Description: Two pumps from Chippenham, a pump from Corsham, a heavy rescue appliance from Trowbridge and a flexi-duty officer were mobilised to a report of an RTC with persons trapped on West Cepen Way, Chippenham. On arrival crews confirmed there had been an RTC involving one articulated lorry and one saloon car. Two persons were released from the car using hydraulic cutting gear - there were no persons trapped in the lorry. The two casualties were left in care of the Ambulance Service who were also on scene. A slight leak of methane from the HGV fuel tank occurred which froze over and sealed the leak. Incident left with Police awaiting recovery of vehicle.
