Rescue from water – Fiddleford, Dorset

Time: 3:20pm

Description: 3:20pm - Crews from Sturminster Newton, Blandford, Weymouth, and Poole were called to a person trapped in open water at Piddleford, Dorset. A person had become trapped in the River Stour after attempting to rescue their dog from the water. Passing members of the public aided in helping the crew to locate them, and rescue teams used a triple extension ladder to access the river and help the casualty from the water and up the steep embankment. Both dog and owner are confirmed to be ok after being thoroughly assessed by firefighters.
