Rescue from Water – Sturminster Newton

Time: 9.55am

Description: Sturminster Newton - Crews from the Sturminster Newton, Blandford, a Water rescue team from Poole and neighboring brigades Devon and Somerset's Wincanton fire stations were mobilised  to a report of a kayak stuck upside down in a stretch of the Dorset Stour in Sturminster Newton. On arrival crews retrieved the kayak from the river and completed a full search of the area. No persons were found within the water and it was confirmed by local residents that the kayak had been seen in the river for up to 10 days prior to the teams arriving.
