Report of a property fire in Weymouth

Date: 9th April, 2019

Time: 11:20

Description: At 11:20 today Dorset & Wiltshire Service Control Centre received a call to a report of smoke in a room and smoke alarms sounding at a premises in Gloucester Street, Weymouth. The site were also evacuating. 2 crews from Weymouth Fire Station were alerted, along with one from Portland and a high rise and further fire appliance from Yeovil Fire Station in Somerset. Fortunately though there was not actually a fire and the cause of the alarm was believed to be electrical with the smoke alarm. Stop message was in at 11:39 so all oncoming appliances could be turned back. Thanks to our partner crews from Devon & Somerset for coming to our assistance.
