Description: Swanage - crews from the town and from Wareham were mobilised to a house fire which was escalating, and fire crews from Poole and Westbourne were mobilised to assist shortly afterwards. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used main lines and hose reel jets to tackle the blaze, which involved the roof of the property. Due to issues getting sufficient water to the area, a water carrier was requested and proceeded from Ringwood, Hampshire and a fifth fire engine proceeded from Hamworthy. Crews set up a system to work safely at height, involving multiple ladders, and were able to remove sections of roof tiles to expose the roof space for firefighting purposes. The fire was under control just after 5pm and crews left scene soon after 6pm. A reinspection using a thermal imaging camera was carried out by firefighters from Swanage at 9pm and no further hotspots were found.
