Property Fire – Chippenham

Date: 7th September, 2020

Time: 7.27am

Description: Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service Control received a call at 07:27 reporting an alarm sounding at a premises on Westcroft, Chippenham. One pump from Chippenham was mobilised to investigate. Control then received a further call reporting smoke issuing from the window of the property, and a further pump from Chippenham was sent. On arrival the crew requested a 3rd pump attend, which was mobilised from Corsham (who were standing by at Chippenham). Crews used 4 breathing apparatus, 3 hose reel jets, 2 main jets, small gear, short extension ladder and fans to extinguish the fire on the first floor.  The loft space was also checked for any hot spots. An ambulance was requested for one male casualty.
