Description: Two crew from Shaftesbury fire station attended a house in Motcombe last night following reports of a fire in the kitchen. On arrival crew confirmed there were flames issuing and got to work with 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet and positive pressure ventilation fan to extinguish the fire and clear smoke from the property. Crews carried out an investigation of the roof space to ensure there was no further fire spread. The stop message was received at 7.59pm, however, crews remained on scene until 10:35pm assisting with a burst water main at the premises, for which further assistance had been requested from the Environmental Protection Unit from Gillingham Fire Station, Wessex Water were also in attendance.
