Description: Westbury - fire at chemical recycling and disposal business, firefighters were called to Absolute Solvents and six fire engines were mobilised, including one from Frome. The fire has been contained within a processing building, and has affected a number of chemical drums. The fire was contained within a processing building, with four 200 litre chemical drums affected. The fire started via self-combustion, due to a reaction of chemicals within the drums during a process to separate out recyclable material. As at 1pm, the Fire and Rescue Service was reducing its attendance on site to three crews, to continue cooling the affected drums until such time as the chemical reaction stops and the risk of fire is removed.
