Description: At 18:35 Fire control took the first of 6 999 calls reporting a house on fire in Rockbourne Road, Coombe Bissett. 1 wholetime and 1 on call fire engines from Salisbury fire station were mobilised. En route to incident the first appliance could see a large column of smoke and requested an additional 2 appliances from Wilton and Fordingbridge. On arrival of the 2nd appliance the requested the attendance of a water carrier which attended from Ringwood. 10 minutes after booked in attendance and due to the nature of the incident "Make pumps 6" was made and further appliances from Blandford, Andover, Verwood and command unit from Hamworthy were mobilised. This was a double garage and domestic property fully involved in fire, 4 main lines and hose reel jets were used to extinguish the fire.
