Gas Involved – Poole

Description: At 04:21 this morning, Fire Control took a 999 call with reports of several cylinders in a compound, one of which appeared to be leaking Acetylene. We mobilised both Whole time and the On call appliances from Poole, along with the Incident Support unit, also from Poole. An initial 100 metre cordon was put in place as a safety measure. 2 Breathing Apparatus wearers were then committed to investigate the cylinder which after inspection, turned out to be Carbon Dioxide. The 100m cordon has since been lifted and the area made safe. Crews are now returning to station.
