Gas involved incident

Description: Just after 4am this morning, Fire Control received a call from Wales and West Utilities who were in attendance at an address on Commonweal Road, Swindon, where there was a gas leak. Fire crews from Westlea and Swindon Fire Stations attended. The situation was made safe by isolating the gas. Firefighters also used gas monitoring equipment to monitor the levels of gas at the property. This is a building containing 14 flats, and we requested the assistance of the management company to provide heating for the residents until the gas can be reinstated. Working in partnership with Wiltshire Police and Ambulance Service. Ambulance also assisted with a casualty believed to be effected by the gas
