Fire in the Open – Sharcott

Date: 24th May, 2019

Time: 2.35pm

Description: One pump from Pewsey was mobilised to a report of a bonfire out of control near to Sharcott Drove, Sharcott. On arrival the crew requested a second pump attend for water which was mobilised from Marlborough. The bonfire had spread to some pallets and other items involving a pallet with a quantity of possible asbestos. Two hose reels were used to extinguish the fire and an Environment Agency pack were used to prevent water run off entering nearby water courses. Minor decontamination was also set up. The Environment Agency were informed and liaised with the crews on scene.
