Commercial premises fire, Shillingstone

Time: 18:01

Description: At 6.01pm this evening (31 October) firefighters were called to reports of an industrial premises on fire on the outskirts of Shillingstone. At the height of this incident we had six fire engines and a water carrier on the scene.

Firefighters are using multiple hose reels and compressed air foam to bring the fire under control.

We are working with the electricity board (SSE) at this incident. The fire has caused some power disruption to the village of Shillingstone, we apologise for the inconvenience. We are working hard with SSE to ensure power is restored as quickly as possible.

Update 10pm - Electricity is now believed to have been restored to Shillingstone. Firefighters remain on the scene although we will be scaling back to three fire engines on scene shortly.

Update 01/11/2024 12am - firefighters remain on scene and will do throughout the night monitoring this incident.

Update 01/11/2024 8.30am - One fire engine remains at this incident using a hose reels to dampen down hotspots.

Update 01/11/2024 3pm - The stop message was received at 11.45am this morning. Firefighters have now left the scene of this incident, but will be returning later today to reinspect and ensure no further hotpots remain.
