The Firefit initiative aims to encourage young people to keep themselves fit.
James Goldsmith and Jason Bethell created the Firefit initiative after taking part in the National Firefighter Games. In a similar vein to the Games, Firefit involves a series of fun competitive events such as Hose running, an assault course, climbing a 3m wall, and climbing 90 stairs.
It is currently delivered at schools and open days throughout Dorset as an informal education programme run by Red Watch from Springbourne. However, the intention is to extend the scheme into Wiltshire as well.
We can tailor the programme to the age of the students – the firefighters help smaller children to complete the challenges if necessary.
