Religion and Belief

The Equality Act 2010 provides protection against discrimination on the grounds of Religion or Belief, including because of a lack of religion or belief.

The largest religious group across both Dorset and Wiltshire is Christian followed by No Religion, but we are aware that there are other religious groups across our service area and we therefore seek to engage and learn about these practices to ensure that we can promote fire safety to all members of our communities.

The majority of our workforce have identified that they either do not follow a religion, have not stated their belief or are Christian. However, as a Service we are committed to supporting individuals from all religions and would therefore encourage applications from all groups.
